Dress Code

In an effort to encourage a spirit of unity amongst our students, and the understanding that we are a family, students will be required to follow a specific dress code.  Our school colors are Heather Denim Blue and Gold.  Students are welcome to wear solid colored or striped “heathered denim” blue (or navy), “golden” yellow, gray, or white tops, and denim, khaki, gray, or navy bottoms.  Pants, skirts, skorts, dresses, or shorts are all acceptable.  Leggings are not to be worn as pants, but can be worn under skirts or dresses, as long as they are the appropriate school colors.  “Dry fit” material is fine for shorts, as long as they are the “chino” or “dress” style. Basketball shorts and sweatpants/athletic pants will not be permitted.  Shorts, dresses, and skorts should be modest (mid-thigh length at the shortest).  Denim shorts, skirts, and jeans with rips, holes, fraying, or distressing will not be permitted.  Girls should always have shorts under dresses or skirts.  Students are welcome to wear any Telos school shirts or sweatshirts that they have purchased from the school as well, Tuesday through Thursday.

On Chapel days, (Mondays) girls will need to wear a skirt, skort, or dress. Girls shirts should be dressier than the average day, i.e. blouses, button downs, polos, nicer sweaters, etc. Boys will need to wear dress pants and a button up, collared shirt (Polos are acceptable).  Belts are optional.  All clothing should be Telos school colors.  Hoodies are not appropriate for Chapel, as they are very casual. We want Chapel to feel set apart and elevated in the reverence we show. It is a serious thing and we want to set the tone for that in every way, including our clothing.

Hoods on heads are not permissible at any time inside of the building.  Sweaters and zip up jackets are always acceptable for students to wear if they so choose. These must be in school colors if they are going to be worn in class.  Students are encouraged to wear tennis shoes at school, however dress shoes are acceptable on Chapel Day.

Facial Hair is not permitted on students, nor are eyebrow, lip, septum, or tongue piercings.  No visible tattoos are allowed on students.  Hair should be neatly groomed, and natural colors are acceptable.  Please limit makeup usage in students to natural and accentuating purposes, not to distract others.  Jewelry should not cause disruption to learning, so please use parental discretion.

Student I.D. badges are to be worn at all times during school hours. This is part of the dress code.

Old Navy has a “Uniform Shop” that is a great, affordable option for most of these items.
