First Kids Ministry
At First Baptist Church of Crosby, we hold firmly to the biblical conviction that parents are the primary disciplers of their children. God has uniquely tasked parents with the solemn and joyful responsibility of bringing their children up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4).
Our children’s ministry does not exist to usurp the role of the home, nor to entertain children with superficial novelties. Rather, our desire is to partner with and support parents as they faithfully shepherd their families in the truth of God’s sovereign grace.
Corporate Worship & our little worshippers
We believe that the church is a covenantal gathering of the body of Christ, spanning all generations. Because we value family worship, we do not separate older children (starting at 4 years old) from the congregation during our main services.
We deliberately practice and encourage training in the pews We view the presence of children in the sanctuary not as a distraction, but as a vital part of the life of the church. It is by sitting alongside their parents under the preaching of the Word, the singing of the Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, and the corporate prayers of the saints that children learn what it means to worship the living God. We expect wiggles and whispers, and we receive them with pastoral joy as a sign of God's multi-generational faithfulness.
Sunday Mornings
Lord’s Day Mornings
Babies & Preschoolers (9:00 AM & 10:30 AM) While families are always welcome to keep their children with them in worship, we provide a safe, nurturing nursery during our services and Bible study hours. In these early years, our faithful volunteers seek to lay a foundation of trust, teaching our littlest ones through Scripture stories, singing, and prayer that they are cared for by a holy and loving God.
Elementary Bible Study (10:30 AM) Our kindergarten through 5th-grade students meet by grade level for a dedicated hour of theological instruction. We aim to teach our children the grand narrative of Scripture, unfolding the truths of redemptive history, the necessity of repentance and faith, and the glories of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
- Lord Supper Service (1st Sunday of each Month) Every first Sunday of the month, we celebrate the Lord’s Supper as a congregation. On these specific Sundays, we practice total Family Worship, and childcare is not provided during the worship service. We intentionally welcome all generations into the sanctuary so that our children can observe the ordinances of the church firsthand. We view this as a vital piece of discipleship, allowing our little worshipers to learn the gravity and joy of the gospel by watching the saints worship together.
Wednesday Nights
Wednesday Evenings
Our midweek gatherings are designed to reinforce biblical literacy, catechize our children, and foster godly fellowship.
Nursery & Childcare (Babies – 2 Years) Care is provided for infants and toddlers, allowing parents the freedom to fully engage in our adult midweek studies and prayer meetings.
KidZone (3 Years Old – 2nd Grade) A focused evening where children engage in corporate worship, scripture memorization, structured recreation, and intentional prayer. Our goal is to cultivate a deep reverence for God and a foundational understanding of His Word.
Next Level (3rd – 5th Grade) Our preteen ministry is designed to prepare older elementary students for the transition into youth ministry and the broader life of the church. We engage these students with deeper theological teaching, challenging them to rightly understand the doctrines of grace and to walk worthily of the Lord.
